I will dominate 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.

Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly happening.
